McCarron and the UBC are going to try to run a Virtual Convention scam

RichardDorrough
McCarron and the UBC are going to try to run a Virtual Convention scam."The 42nd General Convention of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters has been rescheduled to August 22,2020 and it will be a virtual convention" Its only May and things are starting to open in many states. Why make this decision now to tank the normal convention allowed under the law.Any comments on the legality under the LMRDA. Is this sanctioned by the DOL??Any comments on the legality under the UBC Constitution. Anybody have any specific details on how this will operate. How will the Apprentice committee,Constitution committee and etc operate??Any other councils who have not held nominations and elections for delegates to the convention yet??Have to wonder how you can even have a convention if you have not elected delegates to the convention yet.

Charges to be filed with the OLMS.Anybody else object??

how is that a scam? Who in their right mind wants to get on an airplane, stay in hotel rooms, and be in convention center with thousands of people from all over North America? I'm not the biggest fan of the guy but come on. There's no way he wants to do it virtually. The guy is missing out on a one week celebration of his favorite person on the planet. Himself

Not disagreeing on the fact that they should not be going to Vegas for yet another party on the members dime. However the scam is that McCarron does not get to make the rules and there should be no convention at all.. If you cannot hold a convention that meets the mandates of the UBC Constitution and the LMRDA then the convention should be cancelled. Opposing slates cannot form and meet across the country. Delegates to the Convention elections have not taken place. How can you have a convention virtual or otherwise without elected delegates to the convention?? Oh Wait Dougy will appoint them pro tem??Amendments cannot be offered per the UBC constitution rules. Apprentice and Constitution committees cannot be formed and meet as required. You think you can trust these pieces of shtye with a virtual election with no oversight that they control.Seriously??Lots of questions on Spenncer and Capelli as well as many other scams McCarron is running that he wants to avoid from the floor.Makes no difference. Charges will be filed with the OLMS so we will see if his attempt at this scam stands..Maybe we will get lucky and they will be indicted before then anyways.
